About Us
Vespasian Management Limited was formed in 2003 by Craig Tyrell, the former head of a specialty accident and health insurance division of Combined Insurance Company of America (“Combined”) and Paul Towers, an independent Risk Financing Consultant.
Vespasian Management Inc. was formed in 2005 in order to develop our North American business and provide Vespasian with the ability to service clients and brokers more effectively. Chris Holland, formerly of LDG Reinsurance Corporation, heads the New York City office.
In 2007, Vespasian agreed a strategic partnership with Hardy Group plc, a specialist insurer operating within Lloyd’s of London. Hardy will underwrite a portfolio of risks introduced by Vespasian, with a view to establishing a full binding authority in the near future.
In 2004, Vespasian entered into an agreement with Allied World Assurance Company Ltd of Bermuda (“AWAC”), under which Vespasian provided strategic support to AWAC in the sourcing and management of Accident and Health reinsurance business. This agreement terminated in 2006. However, Vespasian continues to provide run-off services to AWAC in respect of business falling under the agreement.
In addition, Vespasian provides run-off services to Combined in respect of business previously underwritten by Combined Special Risks, Combined’s specialist accident and health underwriting division.
In 2008, Vespasian was acquired by Presidio Reinsurance Group and renamed Presidio Reinsurance Management Ltd. |
